Regardless of how you feel about the song’s content, it’s hard to deny how interesting “Lust U Always” is, both musically and lyrically. It has a hard rock sound using synthesizers and effects to mimic electric guitars, and Prince’s vocals have a sinister appeal to them. Take out the ugly word used later in the song’s breakdown/spoken word section, and you have a song that can still make one’s skin crawl without being offensive.
