I asked a podcast listener via the Press Rewind Discord, @hausoftheo, to summarize “Positivity” for me as he has an excellent way of succinctly breaking a song down that works well for podcast notes. Here’s what was provided – in a similar vein as songs like “Paisley Park” and “The Ladder” from Around the World in a Day, “Positivity” is Lovesexy’s “call to action.” This call to action is, in essence, the pursuit of finding Lovesexy, which is, in Prince’s views, the ultimate relationship with God.
